i thought my bolt pattern on my 82 regal is 5x4 1/2 which also is known as 5x115 . i am being told that it is 5x4 3/4 which is 5x120 the same as caprices s10s camaro and corvettes . are all g bodies the same it seems like i always see elcos with camaro wheels . does anyone know what the correst offset should be for 20 inch rims i can to the conclusion that it should be between 10-20

Factory bolt pattern for all G-bodies is 5-lug, 4.75 inch or 4-3/4 inch, as well as 120.65mm.

The 77-90 Caprices and other B-body cars were built with two different bolt patterns. The normal sedans got the 5 x 4 3/4" bolt pattern also used on G-bodies, Vettes, Camaros, and all 64-77 A-body cars. The wagons, police/taxi packages, and some loaded Olds/Caddy/Buick sedans got the 5 x 5" bolt pattern. Interestingly the donut spare tire in my Caprice wagon has a rim with both bolt patterns.

That's not correct. a 4 1/2" bolt circle is 114.3 mm. The Honda Accord uses this circle. The 115 mm bolt circle (as used on many FWD GMs) is slightly larger. You can probably get ont to go over the other, but if the rim uses taper seat lugs it will be loaded incorrectly.

Yes 4 1/2" = 114.3 mm but I have an older Talon which takes the 114.3 and a new Grand Prix which I guess is 115 and I have a set of rims that I have used on both cars, on the GP right now, and they work perfectly fine. They actually ride smoother than the stockers. Just like 4 3/4 is like 120.65 mm but you can put those type of rims on a GM product.
