What rear end do I have?

I've got an 81 cutlass supreme which originally had the V6. Does anyone know what the available rear ends were for my specific car?

your V6 will have 7.5" rear end with 2.41:1 gears

High Roller is right the car would have left the factory with a 7.5 though the car is 29 years old now and its possible at some point in its life the rear was replaced. While unlikely something like a 8.5 would have gone in you never know maybe you got lucky.

Stock rear in any G-Body except GN, 442, or T-Type Regal is 7.5. Afformentioned cars got an 8.5.

If your rear end is the original 7.5 it will most likely have the 2.41:1 gears. 2.73, 3.08 and 3.23 were all options on V6 sedans and wagons in the Cutlass line in these and most years. Try and find the production code sheet under the drivers seat or possibly in one of the door panals. This will instantly tell you what you have.
