My family and I was at the Woodward Dream Cruise this past weekend and a guy walks up and ask, "Who's black Malibu is that sitting there?" It was a group of us and the person who it belonged to spoke up and said, "It's mine!" The guy then says to him, if you ever want to sell it, call me first and hands him a business card. The owner of the car son was there as well and has a car of his own, says to the guy... It's for sale!!! The guy then goes on to say "I'd be willing to pay anywhere from 20 to 25 thousand. He starts telling us this story about how his wife's first car was a 79 Malibu with the stick in the floor and he would buy it, but the stick in the floor and give it to her as a surprise as if he found her old car. The owner of the car never said a word, it was the son who was doing all the talking and told the guy, we'll meet you in the middle at 22,500. The guy says just give me a call and we can talk.
Now we all have G-bodies and even the owners brother who he originally bought the car from said he should have sold it. The car has been in the family a long time but it was the family telling him he should have sold it right then and there. So everybody that came after that and didn't witness the event was told what happened so he had to hear the story over and over again and it just became a running joke.
How much is a car worth to you? If someone offered you 4x what the car is worth would you take it?
