I happen to have the upgraded Barton Industries Short Shifter but even with the original shifter, I actually thought shifting gears worked just fine.. It feels like it just clicks into gear and no problems whatsoever. Also being a DD, I don't plan on any engine/driveline upgrades so the 'stoutness' of the M82 should work just fine for my application.

I'm also just a basic car guy and you are a professional race car driver (from reading your posts) compared to me, so that could also be the difference in opinion.
I didn't look close enough that those cars came with the Getrag MT82. Many of Ford guys actually think that once Ford works all the bugs out, it will be a very good trans. I am sure aftermarket shifter does help. Many complain about the Nag 1 5 spd in our Challenger, it has been flawless. One of two cars I own that don't need the trans checked every trip out of town, none of them are GM by the way.

I'm not posting mine because I'm not trying to get roasted again. Make your own guesses about what it is based on that.

I guess its what you use it for. I have been looking for a 4x4 barn door 'burban for a few years now to replace my AWD Safari Van.
As I pick up palletized supplies and use my van / truck for work I find that tailgates and lift glass get damaged by forklift operators much easier than barn doors do. I will admit though the lift glass is handy when its raining or snowing. 11 years with Dutch Doors on the van and they are a decent mix but I would much prefer barn doors

I guess it does depend on the application. My issues with the barn doors were that I couldn't open them all the way in a narrow garage, I got wet loading and unloading groceries, etc, and the doors hit each other if they aren't closed one at a time. Also you can't carry long items like lumber or pipes and just open the top glass. You have to have one door open and worry about things sliding out. And I didn't like that I couldn't drop the tailgate and sit on it or use it as a working platform.

My 97 Jeep ZJ is the main one especially this winter, we also have a Suburban and a Hyundai.

I love that color, is that a factory color? I've never seen it before.

BMW? Yeah, I'm used to it. Maybe another turn signal joke would change your mind?

I actually forgot that it was the M82 until UnGn reminded me of it -- haha. In my mind it's my DD, that's fun to drive and I don't think too much about the powertrain the same way as I do in my G-body.

99 Ram 250. 360 gas with crappy 47RE auto. Traded my 96 Z28 for it. Can't haul lumber or block in a hatchback.

09 F-150 STX, but working on a beater 98 exploder to take over DD duties.... love my truck, and hate that I'm racking up so many miles the last few years, that I changed jobs, and driving 60+ miles a day....

2007 Silverado LT 1500. In the year and a half I have had it I have driven it to Georgia, Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee. Only mods are an intake I made out of 4" Cummins exhaust and a Flowmaster dual exhaust. I love it

2002 Ford Ranger with 4x4, 4.0L V6, and auto trans. Recently I replaced the rotted out stock exhaust with a Dynamax kit I got on sale. Battery powered grinder sure came in handy. Also planning to get a sedan soon to join the motor pool.

I got the sedan, a white 2008 Ford Crown Vic P71 Interceptor. Its an retired federal admin car.

It looks just like this one.

Jeep ZJ I have is not a factory color, its actually a mid-90's GM color they used on pickups and we lightened it a little. I got the Jeep a few weeks before my mom passed away as a project. One of her favorite colors was that seafoam green. In fact, her office is painted in those colors and a lot of what she wore were the same colors, and also lots of purple. So we painted the Jeep the same colors, and the pin striping is purple. So its a tribute of sorts. The picture was taken in Brick at a friends house in the Midstreams section.
