I have camaro 15 X 7's on my wagon with 255/60 in the back with plenty of room for wider and 235/60 in the front and they dont rub but that might change when I drop it

If they are coming off a 4wd blazer they might have too much backspacing. They might fit and not rub but they won't look right. they will look tucked in.

sh*t

that's kinda what i was afraid off. any good steelies i could use?? I was gonna maybe talk to junkyard down from $35. maybs i'll go with soft8's in the rear and the 14x6 in the front.

i need a relatively cheap way of geting new tires on this, but im also looking to the future. i don't wanna change my tire setup half way through summer. this way if i upgrade, it'll only be getting another set of soft8's up front.

Sounds kinda like you already have the answer

HAHA! yes i kinda did... except i splurged a bit more

i went with 15x8 cragar soft 8 blacks in the back

and i went 15x7 cragar soft 8 blacks in the front

im gonna do cooper cobra gt's: 235/60 up front and 255/60 in back.

damn car taking all my moneys!

What back spacing for a 17"x8"

I'm looking to order some 17x8" wheels to replace the 14's on my 1980 elky. I've seen conflicting stories on what back spacing I need. Do I need 4" or 4.5" backspacing?

Also. What tire size would work best all the way around?

235/50/17
245/45/17

Thanks for your help.

Either backspace should work. I'm running 17x8 with 4.5 backspace all the way around. I was gonna go with 4" bs for the rear just to make them stick out more.
I currently run 235/50/17 on all 4, but will be changing size eventually. They are just a tad tall for my liking. I will probably go 255/45 in the rear with maybe a 235/45 on the front. Here's a pic.

Thanks for the feedback jrm81bu. Could you post a front and rear pic low enough so I could see how the 4.5" bs sticks out?

Have you had any rubbing with the 235/50/17?

Is this what you're looking for? With the front as low as it is the fronts do rub pretty bad.

On the rear, there is plenty of room. I even put on 1" spacers and there was no clearance issues. This pic is without the spacers.

And another side shot for the hell of it. Kinda shows how low the front is.

Thanks JRM81BU,

I appreciate the pics, helps a lot. I want the same size wheel all around so that tire rotations are possible. Would running the 4.5" BS on a 1" rear spacer full time cause damage to the rear end?

I wouldn't think it would cause any damage. If you plan on using spacers, I would spend the money on a set of good billet adapters.

hey jrm are those the coy's wheels or torque thrust
