Im about to sell my fox body to get my cutlass on the road one of the things I need is a full set of wheels...i really want pro stars but if I don't find them cheap enough what stock gm wheels yall think would look alright? Also would newer corvette wheels fit?
My favorite wheels on a cutlass are the 15 inch SS3 olds chrome rallye wheels from
a 83-84 Hurst/85-87 442. My second fav's would be the 14 inch SS3 olds chrome rallye wheels that came on many 81-88 Cutlass'. Old school Cragar S/S's look nice too. I've got cragars with olds center caps & also 83-84 hurst wheels also that I run on my Cutlass.
i like the SS3 15's as well. I think that they give the car a more fluid look when its standing still and ridin down the road. Them mounted white letter tiger paws looks great. But Im more partial to the GM Ralleys that were on the 67-69 camaro's, vettes and early 70's Monte Carlo's. The set im running are 15X7 in the front with 225/70/15 and 15X8 275/60/15 in the rear of my 81 Cutlass. The look great, give it a "Im ready" stance and just plain sexy to me. Only thing is that its false advertisment right now as im still only runnin the measly NA 3.8
Oh yeah, white letters always got my vote. Here's some pics of said wheels. I didn't have a pic on hand of my olds with the hurst wheels on it as I put 'em in storage for the harsh weather months.
Don't look on craigslist, look here or other Olds sites. Post an add in the parts wanted section. You're not going to have much luck finding the 15" chrome rims though, but you should be able to find the older 15" painted ones ( the style with the beauty rings ) all day long for a good price. I wouldn't bother with any 14" wheels personally.

As DoubleV said you can usually find regular old painted 15" Olds ralleys for dirt cheap. Unlike the old corvette ralleys they actually look like they belong on the car. You just paint them to match your body color. And maybe get a fresh chrome cap and or ring if you want it depending on whether the cars got chrome trim or whether you are going with a more competition look of chrome/trim delete.

I don't mean not to look on Craigslist at all, I'm saying just don't use it as a be all/end all option. When looking for certain items, they will be found much easier somewhere that deals exclusively with said items. The OP made it seem like since he couldn't find the wheels on Craigslist he was $hit out of luck when in fact if he looks in the right place he would easily find what he's looking for.
