Wheels and sizes

Spacer are awful. I have had studs break and lost wheels from running a 1/8" shim spacer, but my 2+2 has run thousands of miles above 120 mph (up to 168mph) with 1.5" wheel adapters in back and I've never had an issue with them. I don't think I would use them with a high HP car launching with slicks, but the axles in a 7.5" rear will break with 300 less HP than would take to break wheel adapters.
When I used 1/2 spacer with slicks I had some issues lol they suck the adapters I never used myself but a frnd of mine did on a dart with a 440 and a 4speed and lost a wheel trashed a quarter panel I'm just afraid to go there

does anyone know if this means i have 14" wheels?

I put some hub centrics on the rear of my car. Minimal thickness to clear 60's series BFG's. Don't go radical. I did not change studs

Another option: http://www.motorsport-tech.com/

As for adapters and spacers not being robust enough to handle the rigours of street and racing use: They work fine.

This guy is a Mechanical Engineer

I don't get Youtube at the office, but if that is the "Engineering Explained" kid - LOL. I'll pass on his advice - he has no real practical experience. Just lots of conjecture and an educated opinion like most engineers.

Will regional road laws allow spacers?

Depends on what you have. The wheels on my wagon, made by Ronal, have integral hubcentric wheel spacers designed into them. Some 3rd Gen F-bodies had 1LE packages which widened the front track, most didn't - so to clear the tire rods the spacers are added. Also, some 3rd Gen F-bodies w/16" wheels had 1/8" steel shim spacers added from the factory in the rear (https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/suspension-chassis/522870-factory-iroc-wheel-spacer.html and https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/suspension-chassis/96101-iroc-z-rear-wheel.html) - so if you have an OEM part there is nothing to prevent you from using them.

I am quite certain other OEMs have used spacers over the years too. The MTO wheel spacer law has to do with stanced-out Hondas, not a muscle car guy with a bit of outter tie rod rub.
