I really dislike vinyl tops, not because I think they look bad but because they are rust traps.
Every vinyl top G body I have ever seen with the vinyl freshly removed has popped out body filler and rust by the upper forward corners of the quarter windows. Usually not as bad as this pic I posted form another thread in the Regal section (pics not mine).
It's probably best to remove the old vinyl yourself to see what condition the body is under it. Most likely it will need some body repair work before new vinyl is put on.
A while back i seen a GP with a tan ragtop that covered some of the back window which looked nice, kinda of like a Fleetwood. Wished i could find a pic BUT i agree i would rathe not have a vinyl or cloth ragtop on my ride. I had a 2000 Caddy Seville SLS without a top and it looked SO much better then the one's with a ragtop.
