So tobyp, are you really going to be reproducing the Hurst Olds lightning rods? What is the time frame on something like that?

We have all the items sent over to make the consoles and am waiting the quotes back to make those. In the conversion kits there will be a H/O conversion option. The shifters will be the last item to be made due to licensing.

Brian,

Can you chime in on the progress of the Hurst shifters?

We actually contacted the manufacturer of the lightning rod tooling. He is up in & age & has no desire to build the shifter or the tooling for it. He is how ever willing to help support the project. Right now I have the name of the engineer who designed the shifters. He is in N.C.
Ed is contacting the engineer's son to get me his phone #. Hopefully this will bring us closer to finding out who made which parts. I'm also dealing with licensed Hurst / Olds businesses so we can get this approved with the Hurst name back on the shifters. The balls are still available & I feel a lot of these parts can be re-made by the original manufacturers.

I am also in contact with the company that made the H/O 83-84 Header panel & interior emblems. This will be off the GM tool. We are negotiating the price to get the tools refurbed & ready to go. Then of course emblem pricing. This will put an end to the Knock offs on ebay for $350+ each. I'll save the rest for another thread.

We always prefer to get the GM stuff first. Then if all else fails to get it built by others.
