Tires look good! I went with a 165/80 on my 15x4s recently, 185/65 in the past and can't tell much of a difference . Count me in for the burnout video of skinnys in the rear!

not a lot has gone on in the last few weeks. We have had a lot going on in life that has been keeping me from working on it. Few house projects got done atleast

So I’ve been collecting parts, new rad, rad cap upper and lower hoses, different alt mount, gauges so I can keep an eye on the vitals, correct flex plate, carb studs, front tires, picked up a set of tall aluminum Chevrolet valve covers off market place, need to be cleaned up and painted but they were cheap! and I fell like I’m missing some stuff but those all came in,

im verry behind my personal goal of having it running and driving by this weekend and I don’t see that happening unfortunately but life will do that to a guy.

but tonight I got the front tires mounted and “balanced”(balance beads)

I couldn’t imagine trying to do a wider tire on the wheel it was bad enough trying to get a 185 on a 4 inch wheel but using tire spoons and doing it at home is a lot different than using a machine

also checked valve spring pressure to make sure I’m not going to kill the cam when breaking it in

after mounting I realized I wish I would have went up a size or two to get a little more sidewall. These are 185/60r15 on a 15x4 kind of wishing I would have went with a 185/65 or 70

these are a 23.7in tire and a 65 would be 24.5 and 70 would have been a 25.2

but ya live ya learn they were cheap and I’ll run them till they are gone or I’ll toss em on the back and burn em off at the end of the season

Yeah for looks I’m looking at a 195/75-15 for the front of my chevelle. Ran a 205/70-15 on my Malibu, but at the least is you cut rollout down on a slow reacting car so it may help on the tree.

I was kind of thinking that aswell, either the kid is going to kill the tree or be red a lot until he gets the hang of it. Last year we had almost a 27in tire on the front

He’s already pulls some pretty good reaction times, he adapts well, when he was doing both the jr and grandmas equinox the first year of jr street he’d hop between the two and usually land around .050 in each

Plan is to run a smaller rear aswell to help the gearing out a bit too since it has highway gears in for the time being

Took off work at 11 today since I’m working tomorrow so decided to get some stuff done. Made some progress tonight.

Alt bracket on, flex plate on, realized the crank had a pilot bearing in it so to be on the safe side did the ol bread trick to pop it out. It’s officially in the car!

If any one is wondering flowtech afterburner header fit great beside the collector hitting the column shifter linkage, I dropped them in from the top with the motor and trans bolted together .

Everything is time consuming right now, and I keep forgetting to take pictures

Got accessories and cooling system all buttoned up, new rad & hoses, power steering lines, fan and shrouds, belts, ect,

Got the passenger side header in with little tapy tap and shaving of the control arm,
IMG_3907.jpeg

Andes up running to the ol hazard fraud to grab a set on angled open end wrenches to make it so I could get the rear most bolt tight,
IMG_3908.jpeg

Driver side header was a project in itself, a lot of up and down from under the car, header in and
Out to bang, pull, push, bend on various things so it could shift correctly in to anything more than reverse

Finially got it to, easy way would have been a aftermarket floor shifter but it’s nice to be able to roll 3 deep with my fam to go places/do things

Grabbed a jegs double hump crossmeber plan was to just modify the stock one but we are past that now. Wish I would have spent the little more on the summit/GeForce one but it is what it is,

Had to elongate the holes just a touch where it bolts to the frame. Other than that fits good

IMG_3928.jpeg

Comming together. Going to be looking for a cowl hood soo as with the new intake it’s a bit too high to clear, even with a drop base it would still be about an inch to high

Such a sweet ride and in amazing condition. Almost never see them anymore around my area. That's one "fortunate son" to coin an old song lyric, keep up the hard work and enjoy the attention and stories you'll no doubt hear from people about when those were everywhere and how much fun people had with them. Gotta love a car that can haul..........and eventually haul A$$! I look forward to seeing the progress on this one for sure.

it was deffiniatly repainted at some point looks like it was dark blue possibly 2tone with silver,

It’s not just his ride dad gets to enjoy it too! 🤣 It is amazing the people I have en countered in the year we have had it, so many stories I’ve had people in traffic yelling across lanes. I definitely make sure I have time to stand in a parking lot for 10-30min when I take it

Getting closer but man I hate how long the little things take. It doesn’t help I sit there over thinking things which slows progress down. And my health issues. I have delayed pressure Uticaria so bent over the fender my chest swells up, laying on a creeper my shoulder will swell, hand gets pinched yup that swells… it miserable but I keep chugging along.

Todays progress was trying to fit the header extensions to make it run through the humps on the cross member,

I’ll need to modify them… told the wife I need 3things, a bigger garage, a lift and a welder

Need to shorten them up a little to not hit the cross member and a small pie cut on the driver side to make it angle down just a touch.

Guess that mean I’m driving it to work open headers one day,
IMG_3948.jpeg

Couple of junk wires fixed, got those all routed, got the heater hoses hooked up, not a fan… might have to revisit thier routing with some new hoses, fuel line routed, again not a huge fan of how I have it need to order a 90 for at the pump as the last one I did was the wrong size.
so it got a strait and looped the hose
IMG_3945.jpeg

Cut up the stock dizzy to make a priming tool, getting oil everywhere I need it and 60lbs with the drill I’m good with that even tho I really shortened the lid of my drill. Just gives me a reason to get a fuel brushless one!(it might have been sizzling alittle)
