Who can you trust?

JAMCAR223 knows someone here in North Houston. I don't know if he could provide a core or not. He's done a few 200-4R's for forum members that I know of.
Yes. Yes. and Yes. Extremely trust worthy, and a personal friend of mine. Ribbedroof If you would like me to put you in touch with him, just PM me.

I used to work in a Transmission shop for a few years, and we fixed quite a bit of other's "expert work". I build my own T56 6spd manuals, and when it comes time to do the 4L80E in my truck I'll buy the tools needed and do that myself. Really hard to trust someone else to do one when I've seen so many things messed up over the years.

Got a 2004r guy here in RI. Rebuilt / overbuilt my 2004r last year. Rebuilt the 5 speed in my '08 Ranger. No issues, stands behind his work, meticulous and attentive to details.

Happy to share contact info upon request.

I think I want to put an OD trans (either 2004R 0r 700R4) in my coupe. Question becomes who can you trust? I

The discussion I had back in 02-03 with the local shop that rebuilds most of our customers transmissions. He was confident in his ability with a 700. Regardless which od it turned my car into a totally different cruiser.

For my 2004r I had built by a trans shop in midwest city. Was a nightmare took 3 months spent most of its time at the trans shop than actually driving. Mine had to be rebuilt and adjusted multiple times till it worked properly. If i was going to have a trans rebuilt local I would use a&a transmission in yukon they do alot of transmission for the local racers plus have good results.

For a rebuilt transmission, I don't think you can go wrong with a nationally recognized name like B&M or Hughes. From personal experience, I would not recommend Monster Motorsports.
There's really no reason to pick an E transmission unless you are doing an LS swap. A well built 200R4 will work perfectly for most G-body applications.
