Is has a Hard Drive... unless HD is something else??

In-dash HD, SAT Radio, and Bluetooth Ready AM/FM, CD, MP3 Receiver with Built-in Direct iPod USB Connection

HD=HD radio, or digital radio. Also, that model is HD radio ready, meaning it needs an external HD tuner to work. I would check JVC's site on that model before buying it as Ebay sellers sometimes get the details wrong.

Also, hard drives are available for your car, but the prices are pretty high right now. Mechanical drives are cheaper than solid state memory for the moment, but that is changing. I think I'm gonna go look for a iPod Mini with a broken display on Ebay and a tuner that can read the sub menus like an MP3 disc. It's probably the best way to do it cheaply. In fact, I do have one in pieces right now that needs a drive, maybe I'll just buy a big CFII card and use that one.

i may be wrong but i am thinking that there are no head units made right now that has hd or sat built in. can i suggest kenwood, i say this because you can get a kenwood for a good price and the sirius and ipod controllers are cheap , i got each of mine for less then 30 each off ebay new and i am working on getting the hd box next. kenwood just seems like the best bank for the buck. i have a kenwood kdc-x869 i got on ebay for 150 shipped used but its a 600 dollar head new, it has all the controllers, eq, crossovers.... i have 28 into the ipod controller and its pretty small and then like 12 dollars into the sirius box, mine does not have usb or bluetooth but i think the new ones do?

Hey man I know one unit that will do everything you want and more. The only problem is it is over 300 bucks. It is called the JVC KD-NX5000
http://mobile.jvc.com/product.jsp?model ... pathId=147

It can play all sorts of CD and DVD discs. It also comes with a harddrive to store the songs and you can even burn them to a CD. You can plug your Ipod into it and it even comes with a GPS map! Now with the bluetooth you would have to pay extra to get an add on for the head unit. I do not know about USB. You can get different accessories to play like satellite radio and HD radio. This has it all and if you look hard enough you might find someone selling one close to your price range!!!

Found what you wanted: http://cgi.ebay.com/JVC-KDPDR80-CD-MP3- ... .m20.l1116

...nevermind, you have to buy all the kits for the Satellite Radio, HD Radio and Bluetooth. I checked out one of them and they all are probably over $100.

^^ Still, heck of a head unit! I wonder if it would accept a flash drive loaded with mp3's? Going to ask him....

They lowered the price on this unit and the seller said it would play mp3's off a flash drive. I'm thinking of selling the new Alpine I bought and getting this instead.
