Why would this not be a good idea? HVAC plug

You meat 'roasting' on the exhaust manifold, right Steve? 😆
Steve's an outdoorsman, so I wouldn't be surprised if he pulls his car over on the side of the road to warm up a snack on his engine, or exhaust manifolds. 😛

What, pre tell, is wrong with that? I mean, if you cook the 'possum off the road on the engine, that's one thing, but beating up some soup is just resourceful.
I do remember an episode of the Pickers. Frank was heating up a taco or something on the engine of the truck. I don't find anything wrong with it. It's being resourceful. We don't all carry camp stoves with us on a regular basis.

that grey connector on the resistor? I just replaced mine with a junkyard one. Mine was melted where the light blue wire goes into. I could wiggle the plug and hear the blower speeding up, down, off, on, up, down, etc.

I don't see why it would need a relay, a simpler solution would be to an insulated accessory stud, then on to the blower relay. This would allow for disconnecting the harness if needed, and remove the weak link (2 spade terminals in an enclosed plug full of dirt/grease/corrosion....at least that's what I usually find there.)

Something like this, there are many different styles...I think some of the 80's GM trucks had one on them
