yes, but also the motor also matters.
If you want "noisy loud" then consider straight pipes or Glasspacks.
I've got a 305 with a pretty decent size cam, It's a H.O. motor. True Dual exhuast with 2.25" pipes with old 14" glasspacs. they exit under the rear bumper. It sounds radical at idle to say the least. But it also sounds like 8,000 rpm when I'm at 6,000. It sounds good at all RPM but it is loud enough for people to turn and look but the cops don't care around here.
