There's more to it than the mufflers. Resonance and loudness are also affected by pipe size and tailpipe design. Dumps will sound different than behind the wheel exit which will sound different than behind the bumper exit. Larger pipes will give a deeper rumble.

yes, but also the motor also matters.

If you want "noisy loud" then consider straight pipes or Glasspacks.

I've got a 305 with a pretty decent size cam, It's a H.O. motor. True Dual exhuast with 2.25" pipes with old 14" glasspacs. they exit under the rear bumper. It sounds radical at idle to say the least. But it also sounds like 8,000 rpm when I'm at 6,000. It sounds good at all RPM but it is loud enough for people to turn and look but the cops don't care around here.

I'm planning to have two headers install and pipes right to flowmaster super44 or super40. So hoe that suppose tou sound with a 305??
