will a car start with no dash

hey i was wondering if a car will start with no dash board. i took mine out and it just turns over but wont start.

btw its a 79 cutlass with a sbc 305 with no computer.

The dash should not have anything to do with it starting. Just make sure the dist. is getting full power and it is getting gas.

this sucks then. because now it wont start. it turns over and i can smell gas but it wont start. any ideas?

Did you check for spark?

Try running a hot wire from the battery to the bat connection on the distributor cap and then try to start it

found out the problem. i have an immobilizer on it( it has to have one to be insured where i live) and i thought i removed it all but apparently it is also connected to the coil somewhere.
