Do yourself a favor and get yourself a wheel with even a little bit of backspacing. 3 1/2-4 inches should be ok with what you are trying to do.

Hard to find lol I got these for 40$ so figured I'd try em I have two 205-70-15 for front with 4inch backspace

So to finalize this 3 inch back space or 4 inch would be better for an 8inch wheel?on my 79 Elcamino or Malibu?

Hey guys,

I've a related question: Just bought 7*15" Cragar Star Spoke rims for my 79 Malibu.
Now the dealer told me they don't pefectly fit as the back space seems to be wrong (it's rubbing against the steering tie rod). i'm not sure what's the back spacing I have... What's the size of back spacing I should have bought without having any issues with that?
I'd love to stick this rim size (15x7, 4.75" bolt pattern) since they just look brilliantly and not overdone at all....
