Finishing my winter project ahead of schedule, the sniper efi is installed on the 383, wired up, new fuel lines etc. all I have to do is clean up the wires and find a decent air cleaner.

Oh boy, where to start. I'm in the middle of an ls swap. I've also remove the interior only to find an old mouse nest in the drivers door. That combined with a bad widow seal has created quit a bit of damage to the bottom of the door so fixing that has become my top priority. I think I'm going build a mini body shop in my basement (much warmer than the garage this time of year here in Michigan) for this project. I could go on all day....

Think warm and have a warm thought - that will make it better.

how will that help me ?.....
I guess I left out a couple words. I thought that quoting your post to show what I was answering was enough. I was saying that I WOULD like to see pictures of how you built those "crib style" stands, since I have tons of scrap 2x4s around to use. I want to build some of my own.

Last weekend the engine was installed
Now on to the 12 bolt
I picked the rear up for $900 it’s a 70 Chevelle rear open differential with 331 gears it came with a set a C clip eliminator‘s and a summit mini spool
I picked up a three series carrier for it because I plan on using the 331 gears in the car I’m kind of on the fence if I wanna do the c clip elimination
The mini spool is for sale if anybody would like it I will even sell you the open carrier if you want it

Get the 400sbc ready for start-up/brake-in (for the 'Bu).
Get the flat-head freshened up for the Cabriolet.
Steering column shortened for the 64.
Any progress to report?

Been working on the steering column shortening mostly. Column housing is cut to length & trying to determine the internal rebuild parts necessary @ the moment. Aftermarket stuff is limited on what they list so it's difficult to determine if the parts are correct for the column. I'm not 100% sure where/what vehicle the column was originally from. I just know it's from a 'pre-72' column ignition switch style GM vehicle.

I'm still trying to decide on the sbc 400's valvetrain. It already has a Lunati Bracket Master hyd/flat tappet (#0412; 300/300; 246/246 @ .050; .515/.515; 108/104) which I feel is a bit much for my needs. Debating on a slightly smaller hyd/flat or doing a hyd/roller. Budget is a big concern here w/multiple projects so spending ~$800 vs $150 is a struggle. The new larger diameter steel wheels I ordered & have been waiting for are now an issue. The fronts were in stock so I already had them for test fitting. With the front fit confirmed, I ordered the rears which were considered 'custom' (because they are powder-coated) but had a 4wk lead time. That was in September. They are now listed as 'back-ordered' w/no delivery timeline so I'm investigating alternatives as fronts w/o rears do me no good.

The Model-A is still sitting in my buddies shop. He's been scarce lately putting miles on his Coupe & a job change so he hasn't been @ the shop as much. My goal was to get the motor out, inspected, & get parts on the way. Since it's conveniently sitting in his unit vs. mine, I'm on his schedule.

With this going on, I also worked on a couple of items for my dually (Squarebody crew-cab). I had an issue w/a relay failing on one of the air-ride compressors. I replaced the relay & within a drive or two lost the new relay. This had me thinking the pressure switch was bad (extending run time) so I ordered/replaced the pressure switches for both tanks (6yrs old). I did that swap on Friday but the compressor for the rear bags (where the original issue started) is running @ a higher temp @ the power supply wire where the relays failed vs. the other compressor. So now I'll be ordering a new compressor. Until it arrives, I had to tweak things so I could easily add air to the tank if needed since the truck lays flat on the ground w/o air. I removed the compressor & spliced in a temp fill valve yesterday. If I would have done thermal testing earlier in my diagnosing, I prob would have not replaced the pressure switches.

Made progress on the 12bolt today plan on Setting the carrier in tomorrow not sure what I’m going to do with the rear brakes really don’t feel like spending the time to clean up the old backing plates might just buy new ones going to have to research how big of a drum brake I can stick on the back of his thing with a 15 inch wheel

I got the new replacement compressor this week for my dually & got things swapped.
Ordered the possible lower bearing kit for the 64's column.
Ordered & picked up the possible new 18" wheels for the '78. Needed them to guide the decisions.
