I am having a real hard time trying to get winter steel wheels for my boys 1980 Olds Cutlass. I found some on kijiji, but the guy said they were 5 x 4.75 and they did not fit, plus the backspacing was way too much.

I can't find a listing at Canadian Tire at all. Now that the snow is flying It's the number one priority right now.

We measured the studs with a tape measure and it looks more like 5 x 4.5 to me.

Try a local junk yard. In my area they sell steel wheels for $25 each. They even repaint them black. You may not get 4 that look identical but the size will be the same (cheep hubcaps fix that). A good yard will know what other cars will fit yours. GM used the same size on allot of vehicles.

Kevin I wish we were a little closer...I have a set of factory steel wheels for the Gbody cars. I have an aunt and uncle in Sherwood Park but sadly they were just here a month ago or I could have sent them up with them.

I believe S10 wheels should fit? maybe you can source some of those?

I'm a little afraid of your son driving that 442 in the winter...not that he might not be a good driver but I'd be worried about the "other" guy. I understand sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do though

ALL 81-88 g bodies were 5x4.75 and I'm sure 78-80 were too.

Always glad to help lol. All else fails, at least you got some trailer wheels.

Well, I made a couple of phone calls and there is only one rim from an s10 in the whole area. I am SOL for wheels.
I phoned Canadian Tire and they want over a hundred bucks per wheel for stamped steel wheels.
