wiper motor switch swap?

Has anyone here swapped a steering column and had to change from either delay wipers to no delay or vice versa? I am going to a tilt column with a delay wiper switch and the car has the non delay wipers. Can I plug the delay switch into the non delay and make it work with changing the wires around? I pluged it in and I have nothing..... I am guessing I need to get a delay motor and add a wire to the harness? What do you all think?

I think you just need to change the motor. That is all I did in my car. However, your car may have different wiring than mine if it is not a 1985 or newer.

Not sure of the yr of the column, bought it off evilbay... Looks like there is an extra wire for the delay set up. I think I need to add a wire to the old harness and replace the wiper cover from one with a delay set up.
