couple parts to install

I have a autometer tachometer that i need a little advice on the size wire needed to may the installation. the direction didn't say what size wire to use but it did say use a 3amp fuse, I'm assuming it gets wired to the fuse box, so I guest that about 41/2 ft. and will I need a filter to keep the need from bouncing around, it does have a Hei distributor if that matters .

2) which color wire on the light switch will I tap into for the lights on the tach.

3) looking to switch to a electric oil pressure gauge, the fitting on my copper line is a little wet with oil , don't want to chance trashing my new carpet and interior. if someone know a good brand electric gauge that come with the oil pressure switch and wiring to purchase I would appreciate .

thanks

With a short run (under 25 - 30 feet) 16 Gauge wire is good for 5 amps, with the 3 amp fuse an 18 Gauge will suffice 16 Ga for a little extra insurance.

I don't have any filter on my autometer gauges. The filter capacitor is usually a factory thing.

At the switch it is a green wire going to the fuse block, with a 5 amp fuse (inst lps) from the fuse block it is a gray wire.

You should have a wire in the harness for the oil pressure whether the original setup was gauges or just a light. The wire color should be tan. Just get it from the existing gauge harness. Find the wire in the under hood wiring for the sending unit. The sending unit is commonly available.

Without the exact year and make the wire colors might be off, verify with a wiring diagram for the specific vehicle.
