wires crossed

i have an 85 cutty with a 231 v-6 friend did a tune up and crossed the wires does anyone know where they actually go or have a diagram or pics of how they are supposed to be? thanks

i've tryed this before car wont even start i might not have it on the right #1 my dist. is cocked at an angle compared to the diagram

Your best bet is to find TDC is on the balancer, and pull the distributor cap off. If it's close to 180º from where the picture says #1 is, then spin the crank another 360º, and the rotor should be just past one of the contact points for the cap, this will be your #1.
