I recently bought a 1980 2 door cutlass for 500 buck from a friend because she couldnt keep it at her apartment.
It had the original 4.3 260 V8 engin in it.I recent put a rebult chevy 350 in it, now it doesnt start. I know every thing works because all motor parts are new including distributor. The engin is turning over, but just no spark to the spark plugs It took me about 6 months to rebuild this motor and car i just want it to start does any one know the correct way to rewire the engin so that it start and for a cleaner look.

do you have the distributor in 180º off? If your using an HEI then there isn't much wiring, The power feed is all you need. Are you using a distributor that is known to work and you have the rotor installed?

The wires for the alt., starter, and distributor all should hook up the same. If you marked everything when you took it apart you should be good there. If not you will need a wire diagram for the car. If that's all ok it will all have to due with the engine and you could cancel out the swap. Hope it all turns out good for you.
