wiring new gauges

i just bought a three piece gauge set (volt,oil pressure,and water temp). the directions say to wire them into the dimmer switch but i dont have one. i was wondering if there was a way to wire them into the headlights so when i turn them on, the gauges will turn on also. if so, tell me how! thanks

You could tap into the illumination wire. This is a gray wire and you could tap into it at the ashtray light, radio, heater a/c, etc. , any interior light that turns on when you turn your interior lights on.
