Wiring Up Gauges

Hi,

I don't have much experience with electrical stuff, so here is my question.

I installed 3 autometer gauges. Just need them to be wired up.
In order for the gauges to only light up when the head lights come on, I have to wire the gauges at the head light switch, right?

Sounds right, you would hook them up to the parking light side of things, likely a spot in your fuse box you can connect to and not directly to the switch its self. Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in, but thats how I did it on my old Dodge pickup.

I use the gray wire that lights up the heater control. So when you turn on the park lights and\or headlight in all your gauges will come on as well. HTH!

I was gonna try and wire them up at the headlight/parking light switch but its almost impossible to get to the wires without taking the dash completely apart.

So, Uneek1976, gray wire at the HVAC controls?

Yes that should be the wire for the lights.
