It looks like it could suck up a lot of money, and a lot of time. I say keep looking.
I got my eyes peeled but here in the flat lands its getting harder and harder to find cars like this. Id really like to find a 70 SS Monte but those are getting few and far in between anymore.

Really depends on how much work you are able to do yourself and what kind of finished product you are looking for. Short of totaled, any car is savable. This one looks like your gonna end up with as much new metal as old.

I was thinking the same thing Carlola. I know i can atleast get the car back to presentable condition with the little experience i got when i got my 71 Monte. The monte was missing alot and in almost too poor a shape to do anything with really, but i thought, WHAT THE HELL, lets give it a shot, the most i can do is f*** it up even more, So, I bought alot of parts that were in really good shape from swap meets for dirt cheap prices or haggled the guys to give em up considering they had too many and they didnt want to haul em back, took em home, cleaned em up and went to town on it. This one I think i can do because its actually in alot better shape than my Monte was and think that it wont take as much to get back to looking like a 10 or 20 footer at least ya know. A buddy of mine back in Ky has his own body shop and thats were i did alot of the body work on my monte, with his help and my willingness to learn a few tricks of the trade also got me a better price on the work that was done. The motor and trannys no problem for me. I can build the motor back if it isnt too far gone and buy a trans from my uncles yard if i have too. The thing that draws me too it, is that its a small block car with a floor shift. Not very many of those factory still remain. But like i said, i'm a keep looking and if i can't find what I'd like to have, I think i'll go for it. but advice is always helpfull on here.

I would say look for a cleaner one to start with this one to do it right would need a frame off restoration besides needing a couple quarter panels and whatever other bodywork or replacement panels it might need. Then after all that you will have to get a new grill and misc. chrome trim etc. and then you would still have to redo the interior, and go through the engine, chassis and the rest of the drivetrian.
If you have the funds and the skills to do the work yourself I would say it would be an OK candidate for a restoration but it is going to cost a lot of money in parts just to do it and if you have to pay for any labor the cost will get very high plus the smaller parts will nickle and dime you to death.
Also it's not like they are giving it away at that price.

I just saw this on Craigslist, it's a Lemans but a decent example of what's out there for the same price so I say keep looking.

These cars also have a HUGE aftermarket selection, it can get expensive, but parts and replacement panels are widely available.

Usually if you have to think twice about being able to afford a $3200 car in that condition, you dont have the $15,000 it takes to restore it.

Someone always chimes in to say "if you could do the work yourself, you could save"... But if youre on here asking for an opinion at that price range, you dont have the skills to gauge the scope of the project, or the experience to see it through. People that have the drive to finish a project like that, are cuttting out the trunk and floor, and fitting up a new quarter panel skin by the time I finish typing this opinion.

Keep looking.

If you ask me that car has been sitting in that yard for a while and sitting on grass the frame gets eaten as fast as salt can eat it. The grass gives no indication when tires rolled over it. I'd forget about that one....
