Your first set of wheels......

I bought 2 68 Chevelles for $500 when I was 15. One ran, one didn't. Should have kept the non runner it was in way better shape but dad said if I drug home something that didn't run II would be looking for a bridge to live under. Both 307 powerglides. The non runner got sold for $600 from the original seller's yard to a guy with a 68 SS396. The extra $100 bought me a set of 14" torque thrusts. My first choice was a 57Chevy 4 door wagon with no motor or trans for $500, but that whole living under a bridge thing.....

1974 chevy impala 2dr. 350 4bbl w/ rebuilt th350. bought it from my grandpa's shop for $350, and used to joke that I bought it for a dollar a cubic inch. 6 months later, the #1 rod decided he had enough, and took out the oilpan on his way out.

looked like this, but blue, and not in as nice shape as the pic...

Always liked the B body coupes, even briefly owned a sideswiped 71 that I bought from a coworker to fix my dad's 71 sedan that my brother wrecked. Looked for years for a decent one, then the donk thing happened and now they're stupidly expensive. GREAT roadtrip cars!

You bring out a good point. When I was young GM had a world of wheels show that would come into town and Dad would take us. It was something we all enjoyed and I have been a lifelong GM person. For daily rivers, Delco-Tech shops, GM training centers and the like. I bought my first Toyota truck last year as the last 3 chevy trucks that i bought new were duds. One the engine at 100k had to have cam and lifters, a 2016 the paint came off at 2 years on several panels, 2018 the trans acted up too much. Local dealer was awesome but was too much to overcome. I like my Tacoma

Thats funny, all my co-workers with Chevy trucks complain about them in one way or another. Yet I have zero complaints about my Tacoma!

The first car I got was my Uncle's '75 Camaro LT. Never got it going - but, the seed was planted. First car I bought was a '83 Monte Carlo CL. Never got it on the road either. First car I got to drive regularly was an '88 Z24 with a 5 speed. My parents lent it to me, I beat it to hell and back (I went through 3 clutches). Shortly after that I bought my MCSS and the rest is history.

My first car was a hand-me-down from my mom, a 1971 Ford Torino 500. At first it looked like this, but with standard wheels and no hood stripes. Buy the time I was done with it it had a yellow 1970 Cobra hood (the hoods were so long that almost everybody bent them if you forgot rock them side to side when closing them), silver driver's door, and a white driver's seat. I replaced it with a 1978 Malibu longroof, followed by a v8-powered 1973 Vega, 1976 Camaro, 1988 C/K1500, and a 2001 F150 with a 1978 El Camino project/toy.

My dad popped for my 1st car. It was a $40.00 Galaxy 500 pig with a brush paint job. The 1st car I bought was a 1970 383 auto Road Runner. I got my 1st loan (I was 17) for $1000.00 and paid back $100.00 a month. High risk insurance for a 17 yr old in a big block car was also $100.00 a month. Loved that car. Traded it for a stereo when I joined the Army. My car looked just like this one except it has way more tread on the tires. 1561859107056.png

I still have my first. 1986 Fiero SE got it when I was 12 for a birthday present I’ve redone it a couple times. Plan on trying to get it painted here in the next year or two. It’s been a fun car

My first one was a '70 Opel Commodore Coupé, fuel injected 2.5 inline 6, 4 on the floor.

Never really got it on the street, so I build a Opel Manta (2.4 4-banger, 2 dual 48 Weber carbs, cam, ported head etc.).

Switched over to Ford Capris real soon after and went completely over the edge building different engines for them. Starting from a built 3.0 V6 Essex, which gave the first BMW E30 M3's a run for their money, up to turbo-charged 2.8 V6 with either 3 dual Weber carbs and fuel injection later on.

At this time I worked for a BMW dealer and on a sidejob I built autocross cars and raced them with a friend.
