Build Thread Project GNX-SS***More PICS 10/5***

Finally starting a build thread so its a little easier to see the progress of the regal. These updates are in reverse order meaning that the first set of pictures is actually the most recent and go in order from newest to oldest, the next update should be the newest and they will be new from that point forth. Looks like Im about a week and a half out from being able to prime block and paint. Im looking foward to that, but after that means installation of all that suspension stuff and engine stuff that Ive been hording up as of late.

Saturday afternoon rear fender flare install 3/28/09

Just did a preliminary install of the rear GNX fender flares. They have been primed with self etching primer and do not have the welting installed yet as they still need to be painted. This is a preliminary install and the only adjustment needed is on the passenger side, needs to be loosened up and moved foward a bit to alleviate a small gap in the front half of the flare. Nothing major and all in all wasnt a bad install. Enjoy the pics

Front End reinstalled

Well, we had to install the front end back onto the 87 Regal so I could go ahead and rework the doors without having to worry about nicking the primer on the doors by adjusting the fenders. Installed the front bumper fillers for the first time and they fit excellent. The headlight bezels are just there to see how it will all look and the fender louvers have been removed as well. Need to rework the doors, the roof, and the hood, then prime the whole car, block it, and squirt the paint. Its getting close.

Grand National Spoiler install

Well, the past two days have been beautiful here in central Kentucky and I have managed to get the rear quarter panels and trunk panel primed and almost ready for paint. The holes in the driver side rear quarter panel have been filled and are 90% complete. I removed the bumper fillers off the 86 Regal and fitted them on the 87 Regal they are about 95% done, just need adjusting to line up with body line on passenger side. Also managed to install and final paint the GN spoiler and install it for a test fit. Had to cut a few access holes in order to install the spoiler which was a minor pain in the *ss. Havent installed the end caps that go over the quarter extensions yet. Still need to prep and paint those and they will not be installed until after final paint. The spoiler will come back off before paint too, this was just a trial fit. I tested the endcaps out and they left some black smudges on the car, disregard those in the pics. The bumper fillers also need to be mated together flush in the center. Here's the pics, she's finally starting to come along, hopefully by the end of March she'll finally be ready for paint and then I can install that plethora of suspension parts I have sitting in the house. Enjoy.

Goodies and car being stripped

As I said earlier I purchased a 1987 Buick Regal Limited to become the new Project GNX. That said heres some specs on the car as is. 350 SBC with TH350 Transmission. Sport trim package, blacked out trim. Basic Limited Regal options. Power everything. Heres the pictures of what was done this past Sunday to the 1987 Regal and some teaser pics of speed parts going on to the SBC. Also, all the aforementioned suspension parts and wheel tire combo will be installed on the 87 Regal instead of the 86 Regal. Enjoy, and as always, comments are welcome.
