Helped a fellow GTO brethen do a clutch replacement, which should help out when I need to do mine. Got the transmission out and back in pretty good time, the longest wait was actually having the guy run back home to get his one piece driveshaft since we realized how spent his carrier bearing was and the waste of putting it back together as it was. Turned out to need a good bit more of modification to get the one piece to fit

You need to buy that firebird and just throw a poncho 400 in it, rock it as is bad paint/primer and all.

You need to buy that firebird and just throw a poncho 400 in it, rock it as is bad paint/primer and all.
Its my buddy and his wifes project, they were learning to weld and such on it before she hurt her back

One of the nearby junkyards just got a Lacrosse in the same color as mine so I made a trip out today. I wanted to get a passenger mirror and maybe a front bumper cover, but when I got there, both were worse than the ones I have. I didn't go home empty-handed though. My radio buttons were really worn, and I found a perfect radio in the yard, so I grabbed it. Of course GM has that stupid stereo theftlock (because people are stealing mid-2000s factory GM headunits constantly) so I wound up just swapping the faceplates.
I thought these twin Delta 88s in the yard were pretty cool. First gen 3800s. The one with the vinyl top was actually very solid and except for headliner, the interior was mint. It sucks that it's gonna wind up in the crusher.

I bet those gray seats would be almost drop in replacements for my Pontiac.

Been having an issue with my daily driver pulling to the right. New tires on it seems to make it more noticeable. The way these roads are here they grade to the right so that's a factor. Odd thing is all my other vehicles track straight then again they are RWD.

I made these out of some aluminum angle to bolt up and take a measurement from end to end under the car.

With the suspension unloaded the geometry will toe in compared to loaded. Just how it's designed. I made an adjustment already and its tracking spot on so far on flat roads, it used to have a very slight right pull. I'll see how it does on the way to work tomorrow and go from there. I get it true I'll get it up in the air and take the unloaded measurement with these bolted up.

I could load it and get it square which would be the way, but it's kind of hard to get a tape measure through an engine..

Set those against the tire 3-4" off the ground and fish the tape measure through that way. Toe out will make the car darty and prone to tramlining, but will not cause a pull one way or the other. The road crown can induce that, but if it has a drift or pull on a flat road you have a cross camber, cross caster, and/or cross KPI (bent knuckle) issue.

Pull to the right was like super slight on flat roads, it's gone now why I think it was a toe issue because that's the only thing I'm messing with. It was fine before I got new tires a while back. It only pulls under acceleration, crusing it's pretty straight.

I'll have to get at it tomorrow, get it in the air loading the front as much as I can and using them two holes ziptie the angles to the wheels. Then get measurements and make it even then see what it does.

Without weight on wheels you're really just shooting in the dark. I've used Longacre toe plates for eons on the Camaro, along with their camber/caster gauge. Easy peasy and good, consistent readings. For the trucks, I came up with this:

Works on 33s and with my dually fronts. The knobs on the sidewall were giving me inconsistent results with the plates, and the plates straight up wouldn't play ball with the dually.
