engine and transmission swap?

hey, i got a few questions....i drove my 74 delta 88 after getting it from my grandma with 65000 miles and after it hit 100 grand i got it rebuilt stock...its a 350/400...ok now i bought an 86 442 original except for the paint and the lift kit :evil: and a few more things...the engine is knocking and I'm putting my 350 in there until i get some body work on my delta completed...anyway should i go with the 350/400 or the 350/200r4...and if i go with the 350/400 do i need another drive shaft? will i be having any surprises while this swap is taking place...all info will be greatly apprreciated

just swap the 350 in there 350/200R4. Otherwise its a lot of parts changing for the trannies. Driveshafts, crossmembers etc.

yeah they lifted the car for big rims...i dont mind 20's or 22's but not sitting up high...looks stupid...did the engine swap...now i have to adjust the transmission and buy another speedo cable

Are you sure it's really a TH400? Olds rarely put the TH400 behind a 350. If it's a TH400-looking case, it may be the TH375, which uses the smaller TH350 yoke and has lower-duty internals.
