I've never seen anyone do it but it sure would be interesting.

there is no mech in the door to hold it there but the window will go down 5-6" IIRC. I kinda have a fuzzy memory of swapping rear door glass on my dads Bonneville

An integrated assembly would make the install go much smoother (i.e.- tracks, cables, motors all in one). My '02 Silverado is like that. I'm thinking something like Colorado rear door units. I'll have to look into it.
