FWIW I found that the Chevy body was a bit tighter in the transmission tunnel area. I also used a BOP bellhousing behind a Pontiac and the straight clutch rod hit the floor so I persuaded the floor in about 2". The offset Chevy clutch fork is used for this reason. On my Bonnewagon everything fit much better, like it was suppossed to be there, including the clutch fork. As for the linkage hitting, lowering the tailhousing helps, but then you run the risk of the fan hitting the top of the shroud.
