REcycled packing crates from Chinoise. You want hardwood for that exercise, 4x4 or bigger, maple or oak or something along that line. Sometimes the local shipping terminals have sections of baulking or bracing timber that they will let go of.

Thanks for the info. I havent done anything with the donor regal since the body pull. The 2 4x4s that are left are holding but no way i get under it to cut out metal like it is.

Yesterday morning before work i pulled all the body bolts but one off the pontiac. Drivers b pillar giving me trouble at the rust out area. If theres enough good metal on the mount im going to tack the fastener to keep it from spinning. I dont want to open the floor any more than i have to, otherwise i would just use a cutting wheel to get access.

The donor regal is solid in this area so at least ill have good factory replacement metal. Pontiac needs a bunch of rust repairs. Im hoping i can just use patch pieces without having to take apart the floor/rocker but it doesnt look good.

I still need to disconnect the pontiac brake lines/ebrake cable, steering shaft, and speedo. Everything else is ready for body off. Once off ill swap pontiac suspension and rear onto donor regal frame and that frame goes under okla regal

My Torino is ready. Shop says they repainted 80% of the car and fixed the ac, fuel leak, and transmission leak. Im shocked its done. No where to put it so it has to go to storage. I pick it up this afternoon.

Still hot. 106 yesterday. 105s this weekend. Tuesday we may see some rain and mid-hi 90s, then back to 100s/dry. This has been a brutal summer. Records are being broken. We havent had rain and its been relentlessly hot since late june with lows at 80+. Wednesday morning we had a decent few hours, high 70s but low humidity....then back to 100s and high humidity before i could get off work. This heat has slowed progress way too much. This weekend is nothing but cars.

Heat is just too much. Had to stop. Was successful in getting the done frame under the pontiac. Its on 4x4s for now.

Will get back out there at 3am. Started swapping rear axles/suspension and started to cramp up.

Lots of bad under the pontiac. The floor crossmember on both sides is toast and the rockers have cancer along with the floor in the area. Right at the body mount. Donor regal is solid there so at least ill have good metal to work with.

They reproduce that crossmember w/#4 mounts,if you don't wanna mess with cutting it out of the regal body.

Thanks RHSS.

GrandAm has the replacement frame under it.

Okla Regal has a frame under now from the $400 regal donor and the rear axle from the GAm. It is now in storage.

Donor regal is still in the driveway with stripping needing to continue. I had to cut harvesting short.

Dropping the Regal body on the frame went smoothly, but i did learn i have to chok the tires. Also using steel rims with no tires makes it easy to dial in the drop. Sherry took a pic while mid drop.

Shop said he couldnt meet today at 2, i needed the time anyway. Torino pick up is tomorrow at 6.

Im beat. 107 today. This heat is way way beyond normal for us. World of difference between 97 and 107.

Shifting my sleep schedule. Not expecting a break in temps until mid Oct ish

Torino was picked up last wed irrc less hood fenders etc, still waiting. transmission still leaks...no more gas leak...paint looks like hell awaiting cure to cutnbuff. Bottom line is more delays and bs.

Heat and work got in the way of gbodies. Had 6 hours today. Old GAm frame has been stripped of all. I was able to salvage 3 mount areas and the right rear rail along with both front frame horns. Took the front suspension as a unit for the okla regal.

Hopefully tomorrow i can start cutting up rusty regal body.
