I would like to replace my frame but I do not want to take away the original numbers matching frame, did you happen to find a VIN stamped on the frame anywhere?
Perhaps on the passengers side where the door hinge area would sit?
Could you post a photo?

hold on a min if you're thinking of re-doing the frame its obviously a safety issue right? Look at his replacement frame. Even it is surface rusted that you probably couldnt read vin #. Even if your 442 went to a Barret Jackson auction they'd check all the vin# except maybe the frame. 442's are great and need to be preserved every way possible - but they're not worth dieing over and they look a lot better rolling up than sliding up on a trailer behind a silverado!

Finished the welding and grinding on the frame this evening. Next stop will be sand blasting and powder coating, this will take a couple weeks.

So this evening I dropped off my frame to tristate fabrication in Amelia Ohio. THey will bead blast to bare metal, clean up some blemishes and powder coat to gm factory satin black finish. All for $500.0. Have at it I say!!

Next time to see it , she will look like new, then all the ripping and tearing of the 442 starts!

spent last night testing out the new quarter patch panel pieces on my 442 since I need them anyways to find other rust in areas that is going to hold me up. Oh well, this is a long term project which I will wait for our products to come out so I can test them for myself. You will see the new patches which will be permanent after I get the inner wheel houses and trunk floor replaced. Then I may as well move to the rockers and get those replaced as well.

The frame came back today all nice and clean so now It is time to hoist back in the air and start ripping and tearing out the rusted areas and replace with new.
