well its really not important until you're going 80-90mph one day like on a boring stretch of interstate or if you have electric fans for example what if 1 of them isnt doing anything and you dont even realize it yet? Not having the airdam could cause you to overheat if you have the dual electric fans and 1 or both goes out n you dont hear it in time.
