Sweet! You won't regret it. I really like the exhaust system fit and look. It's stainless and the band clamps are definitely the way to go for an easy install. I went with the 3" exiting behind the rear wheels for a factory look. Coming from an Olds 403 with Flowmasters I am ready for something quieter though. The Holley / Hooker mufflers that come with the kit are a bit too loud for my taste. This Winter I plan to swap them out for something quiet and then I'll add electric cut outs. The 6.2 sounds very healthy!
thanks for the heads up on the mufflers. I'm afraid the same may be true for the 2.5". but i have to start somewhere.
i am curious, were they too loud at all speeds, or was there a particular rpm range that was of concern? and what are you switching to for muffler selection.
i have car that is on the edge of obnoxious between 1800 and 2200 rpm's. luckily its a small window that i can manipulate with gear selection.

I haven't driven it yet due to schedule and weather. It is louder than I would like at idle though. Side exit tail pipes have the tendency emphasize issues at certain RPMS and resonate. MCSS style not so much. I remember reading somewhere that Holley did their homework to reduce this issue....we will see. I haven't found a replacement muffler yet but the staggered in/out should be easy to match.

I agree with everything Anubis said.. I went with the full Holley swap components and they are very nice - well engineered and quality materials/welding/etc. I got the mounts, 302-2 oil pan, trans mount and the 2.5 exhaust system. I really wish they had options for the mufflers as they are too loud for my car (I want that sleeper effect). It's OK at idle but from any RPM above it's raspy and obnoxiously loud. It's really cool when you start it up for people and rev it up, but not fun around town. I'll be swapping those mufflers for some quiet ones ASAP.

I followed the g-body ls swap preview thread on LS1 tech for a while when they were prototyping the system. A lot of clutter in the thread, but a lot of good info also including customers fitment comments of other products with the Holley system. Nice to see one of the actual product engineers running a thread & answering questions Holley is definitely the first to offer a matching system & their long tube headers look to have a much better quality, fitment & ground clearance than many other choices .

Do you have any pics? I'm trying to decide which headers to go with. I'm between the Holley long-tubes and the mid-length. I'm also hoping they will work with the Trans-Dapt 4595 mounts I have installed currently.

Our wagon uses adapter plates and Holley long tubes. Link is in the signature.

As far as mufflers go, there is only one I will run on all of my rigs...Magnaflow. I have a pair on my 6.0 in my Denali and no drone at freeway speeds and when you floor it they have a real nice sound.
Flowmasters have their place but not when you want some quiet in the cabin. Also a good sound mat or lizard skin will help.

Anyone have vids or audio clips of the hooker exhaust? I don't want it too loud either... I did that in my 20's and 30's but at my age now I'd appreciate a nice deep tone but nothing obnoxious

Hey Tony,

I replaced the Hooker mufflers with larger chambered Dynomax turbos. It is quieter but still louder than my goal. With the limited space available I don't think I can do any better.
