Greetings FoxTrot & all; You're livin' the good life. I've been under the impression that the one that puts the MOST Mles on the fastest cars available at the time WINS. Where your DD is in the quickest 10% on the vehicles on the road & your hobby (FUN - Summer) car is in the top 5% or better. That's when you're livin'. You guys livin' in Southern climates have the best chance of winning this race. As most of our northern winter automobiles are Slugs. We have to suffer or put 4 good snow's on a FUN car. I drove the GuTOo many winter days picking the days with MINIMAL salt. And washing Very very often, that includes the bottom (the dirty side that we usually keep down). The COcoold winter air really helps these modern Hallo' cars Preform! But then so does the air box on the Bronze Brick, it's just July instead of January. Maybe not quite as dramatic. Keep Warm Ole' Bob.

This is my workhorse:
37682892904_df32656d91_c.jpg

It's a 2006 Silverado 1500. I've had it just over 3 years and 50+K (believe it or not up until this summer I'd had either a Nissan or Honda as a commuter car in addition). I've replaced a lot of wear items on it but I do drive it HARD (lots of fast mountain and dirt road driving) and some towing. Best truck I've owned so far and I've owned 2 1st Gen Tacomas and an F-150 with the 300ci I-6 (both legendary trucks in terms of reliability).

My other ride is a 2008 R1200GS. I've got about 60K on this bike so far. Hopefully I'll take it over 100K. I spend way more time doing bike stuff in my spare time than anything else I've got a few of my bike travel pics here

Local Hero, I'm jealous you have a wagon without woodgrain. That freakin' right front fender molding trim is proving to be an absolute nightmare to find. If I can't find that, I may be forced to take it all off and do a painted-on woodgrain & trim or just a monochrome paint job.

My daily driver is a 5ish year old base Mustang GT with a six speed manual. Love that car -- offers an awesome driving experience. I currently have my snow tires installed and use as my DD the entire year (currently entering my fourth winter as my DD).
Cool Frank, that would have the impressive 5L Coyote motor and TR6060 manual trans, a really nice combo. I really like that body style a lot. The traction control and winter tires makes our Challenger decent in the winter as well.
