I just found the pic of my D88 I miss this carThank you! Yes, Coupes are pretty rare. That's why I jumped on this when I saw it on CL. We also have a 75 Delta 88 Vert that is my wife's summer cruiser. It's a nicer twin of what she drove in high school.
I think it is the rear window, gives a nicer angle and makes the car look smaller. The early 307 was a great motor, I really think it was better paired with a TH250C or TH350C. If they would have upped the gearing even into the 3.08 to 3.42 range it would have been much better and a different story. My 81 was paired with a TH250C ad 2.41 gears with 15" tires was decent all around.Yes, the larger cars feel better built, ride much better and have been easier to work on, for me at least. I also had an 84 D88 for 10 years with the 307 and OD trans. But this car runs so much better. I also prefer the sloped back window vs. the notch back straight up rear window.
I like the Delta 88! Trying to find a decent 2 door.
My current DD actually belongs to my daughter but she's in school right now and the stupid little car gets 40mpg and just won't die.
