So I stumbled upon a 1983 Hurst/Olds that I really like, but I'm not sure about the asking price for it. It's at the low-end of the 1986-1987 GN/T-Type price range, $12K. Here are some details from the ad:
1983 HURST/OLDS 15th Anniversary
Built Olds 455 w/cam and OD trans
Quick Fuel carb
Lightning Rod shifter
Functional a/c
New upholstery
22" wheels
* Also comes with original wheels and HO 307

Do you think it's worth the asking price?

I don't know. It's not the stock engine, so that's irrelevant to me.

It could be worth the money. How does it run (timeslips)? Who built the engine? Does the air work? How was it lowered (if at all)? Looks to be repainted (shiny firewall), and I hate Foose wheels (just my opinion). I'd offer him 9, and tell him to keep the wheels.

The a/c is functional, appears to be stock suspension, I have no intention of taking that to a track, and I have my own wheels for it. Those would look good on my Elco though.

Price isn't too out of line. Interior and engine are an improvement over the factory. Not a big fan of the big circus rims.....I would toss the factory wheels back on there.

Very nice, and no way you could build one for that kind of money.

Personally, sometimes you just pay the asking price if it's a good value...not worth potentially losing the deal by pissing off the seller with low offers.

No real input on 83 H/O values, but I'd take that over a stocker any day.
