I have a Megashifter in a modified 2nd gen Fbody console and it hasn't missed a shift using a full manual reverse valve body for 2 decades.

I’m really liking that console. I’ve looked around for 2nd and possibly 3rd Fbody consoles as an alternative.
Found this pic online earlier this week and I might just do something like this. I like the clean simple look.

I’m also tossing around this idea even though it’s a little more race car looking than I want.

I have had many people not realize mine is an Fbody console because it looks like it belongs in there where IMO a 3rd gen looks out of place but they are easier to find.
I already restored another 2nd gen for my Regal for when I get around to putting buckets in there.

I’m going to run a second gen f body console, with the his and hers shifter from my 79 H/O. I’m hoping a Pontiac dual gate plate will work with it.
The console is right at home in the Malibu.

This is a Hurst pro-matic 2 shifter. It fits decent enough in the factory center console and I think it looks good. I have it in an 84 El Camino.

I know this might not be the look you want but this B&M ratchet shifter fits pretty nice in a stock console.
mikester , Is this the 1970-81 Camaro shift model. Can you please post the part# of the shifter. I think there are 3-4 models. This is exactly the way I'm going in my Aeroback project. I'm sure there was some fabricating of a mount of some sort. Can you elaborate on the install a bit. Thanks!

To be honest I dont know if I can dig up the part number. Ive had that shifter for a long time. I'll look through the folder full of receipts tomorrow to see if I can find it. Im sure I bought it from Summit.
As far as the brackets, one is home made. I mocked it up using thin cardboard. The front bracket came from Mikes Montes. Its for a console without a factory shifter. stuff 009.jpg

I made the bracket for the shifter and a friend of mine welded them in. There might be some other info somewhere on the forum but I dont remember how long ago it was posted. Maybe these pictures can help you figure out how to make this stuff.

Good information. Thanks for posting the pictures 👍
