Ringbrothers has announced its new G-Body Hood Hinge Kits! Precision machined from aerospace-grade 6061-T6 billet aluminum, the hood hinges are direct bolt-on upgrades for GM G-Body cars.

Designed for use as a direct replacement, the Ringbrothers hood hinges require no modifications for vehicle installation. The strong yet lightweight aluminum hinges feature a custom gas-charged strut to provide a dramatically smoother action as compared to original mechanical spring hinges. The hinge kits allow G-Body hoods to open and close with ease in the same position every time, making proper panel gap and hood alignment easier.

Ringbrothers G-Body Hood Hinge Kits are precision engineered to work with both fiberglass and steel hoods and are available in two finishes: natural and black anodized. One set includes both driver and passenger side hinges as well as all required installation hardware and instructions. MSRP is $600 for natural finish and $650 for black anodized.

Greetings Guys; Ah the Ring Brothers, I'm bias I like these guys. But if ya want their stuff you will need Deep pockets. Us Wisconsin guys are lucky to have them. Many years ago I went up & interviewed with them, But my CNC skills had been dormant since 79-80 & my home was 130 miles from them. I'll also include Wegner Automotive in Markesan Wisc, Seven 5 axis machine centers makin' chips. They eat, breath & live Ls. Oh they had also built engines for Bobby Allison's NASCAR team back in the day before cooperate engines took over. And their prices are much more affordable (Wisconsin based). Check them out for machine work, excellent may be an understatement! They did my Ls heads, $600 out the door. Ole' Bob.

Wowie! Hinges rated for fiberglass hoods! I have a fiberglass hood and as a result have to prop my hood open. I never found a solution, other than the prop, which is custom by the way (a wooden dowel painted chevy orange with a tennis ball on each end) I will definitely see if Santa can add these to his Christmas list.

I have an aluminum hood which requires special Springs. I don’t think I’ll be putting any aftermarket hood hinges on this thing anytime soon especially at that price point… Holy cow! The general got it right.

You gotta make your own. I have modified regal hinges on my Cutlass with custom stainless struts to work on my glass hood.
