So I removed the windows on my 1979 Pontiac Grand Prix because we are going to paint starting from bare metal but, now that I getting close to painting the car I don't know how the window goes back on. Does it have a rubber window trim or is it just glue tape? can some one with a 77, 78 or 79 show me a picture of a close up please?

I have a Cutlass, not a GP, and haven't removed my windows... But from what I've read the seals are part of the glass. Then butyl rubber tape was jammed in to finish the job. Explains why glass setting tape is all you find when searching "79 GP Quarter Window Seals".

The 79 Monte Carlo has a similar roof and quarter window to the Grand Prix. The Monte Carlo has a trim panel with a rubber seal that runs along the bottom of the opening then up the rear of the the window opening along the front of the "C" pillar to meet the roof drip rail. The glass on this car is bonded to the opening with butyl rubber (Same as the front and rear windshield glass) This is also called out in the 79 Fisher body manual. Below are some pictures from my 79 Monte Carlo that I parted out.
Hope this will help.

No problem, but I guarantee nothing.
