I have an old wire that keeps breaking... it's a 10 gauge red wire that goes from the alternator directly to the battery. It appears to have a fuse built into it. Do I have to have this fuse? Or can I just run a new 10 gauge wire?
Yea I used adapters all around. Gives it a better look too... they line up with the body instead of sitting in so far. And as far as lifting, for a Cutlass you're gonna have to either trim the front fender or raise the car. With a Monte Carlo you may not have to due to different fender shaping...
My wife has been dying to curse out this guy for years, let alone this recent situation with the engine rebuild. lol I dropped off my car in January and I didn't get it back until April 16th. I never planned on making it a show car or anything, just a decent street car. But I figured the engine...
The charging system is good now. The grounds are all connected. The only issue remaining is the AC. The new shop I went to referred me to an electrical specialist to get it wired correctly, back to factory. The 2 issues are the blower is constantly turned on and the compressor runs constantly...
And that wire leading directly to the positive terminal on the battery can't be good. Not too sure where that leads to just yet. This AC setup just keeps getting worse & worse lol. The AC remains cold but I notice large beads of condensation on the dryer, it used to get so cold it would look...
lol yea it runs. It idles smooth but accelerating is real sluggish. I was told if I got the correct adapter plate for the carb that it would help. I don't wanna say the name of the mechanic, he's kind of a friend. But he has a shop here in Orlando. But I've come to learn he just slaps things...
Best way is to just show you what it's doing lol.

I took a lot of bad advice from a crappy mechanic. Waisted a bunch of money rebuilding another V6 just to be in an even worse situation than before. I prefer to keep the AC, as it does work, just having some issues with the wiring at the moment. But you could probably guess that lol.
My...
lol what was your theory? And also, I recall my AC compressor used to click on and off.... like the clutch would disengage and then pop on when needed, but now it seems like it just stays running constantly. Which is normal?
I know I should've probably done this before the rebuilt motor was installed, but what all can I get rid of now that I'm using an Edelbrock carb? I have a bunch of unhooked wiring everywhere. My mechanic said he'd get rid of anything I didn't need but he didn't so now I'm stuck with a mess.
It runs at any speed I have any of the four speeds set to. The AC compressor issue was just them not tightening it so the belt was loose.I tell ya, I have the worst luck with mechanics. And I'm not liking the fact that they got rid of the fuse and just ran a wire directly out of where the fuse...
I went with air shocks in the rear and the twist in knuckles in the front but I still had to trim the front fenders. They kept catching on the bottom tip when I would turn. I regret cutting the fender at all, it wasn't done properly so it looks like sh*t. I'm looking for new fenders at the...
Yea I picked up the car today, the charging system seems good to go now. Everything electrical is running strong. The only issue now is the AC. I explain that situation in my AC thread lol.
