Currie and some other manufacturers have new housings and complete rear setups. Google it. You'll find what you're looking for.

The pic looks cool and the rest of the description of what you've done is even more cool! I'd like to see more pics of this unique ride!

    ROLL CALL!

I'm in the Greenville, SC area. 2nd owner of Doraville GA built stock 1978 Monte Carlo with build sheet, stock 305, factory bucket seats, console & floor shift, Tilt wheel, cruise control and Corvette Rally wheels. 2nd Owner of Fremont CA built, 1979 El Camino - custom built 1965 327...

Want some opinions on fixing doors and Windows; pictures inside

It's not a window issue! I just fixed the same issue on my '78 Monte Carlo. You need to replace your door hinge bushings (both upper and lower) or replace the hinges. Either way, you'll probably have to remove the fender to do it. I bought new hinges from Summit for about $50 each. My door shuts...

What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2022]

I'll Check Jet-Hot. I have this set dimpled and fitted just right in this tight fit and really don't want to re-fit another set. Thank You!

What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2022]

On my '78 Monte, I remounted my driver's side fender and attached the hood hinge after replacing both door hinges and getting the door adjusted just right. Still have a few bolts to go... Also epoxied the new turn signal lens to the housing since I had it all apart.

84 Monte Carlo Engine Swap...or Camshaft Replacement ?

If it's an SS with the 305 H.O, I'd rebuild it. Have it bored .030 over, balanced with flat top pistons and a .390/.410 lift cam, Rhodes lifters and 2.25 inch exhaust. You'll be surprised at the difference! From the factory, those are good engines with really good heads! I put a set of those...

    CUTLASS weather stripping complete kit

I would look up A&M SoffSeal. I only buy weather strip from them. 8 years ago, I bought a set of window weatherstrip for a '76 Monte Carlo from Steele Rubber products. It came in a "Metro" labeled box and the fit was garbage. I trashed it, reordered from Soffseal and it fit like factory. I'm...

    Glove Box Stuck Shut

I have the problem on my '79 El Camino and on my '78 Monte Carlo. Since I had to rebuild my AC system on the Monte and get to the control cable behind the glove box, it was the first one that I worked on. It was a trick to pick and get it open to begin with and then trying to figure out the...

    Stock motor

Do What? If you want more anything from a 307, you're going to have to add a turbo, a blower or a Procharger, any of which will hit you for $3000 just for the parts. Even then, you won't have half what you would with a 327 or 350 built right. Other than what I listed, if you try to do anything...
