Finally got around to messing with the column again and after carefully looking at the exploded view of it in the shop manual put it back together.... Apparently when I took it apart 6-7 years ago to tighten up the tilt mechanism I had put the upper bearing inner race back in the wrong side...
Finally got around to messing with the column again and after carefully looking at the exploded view of it in the shop manual put it back together.... Apparently when I took it apart 6-7 years ago to tighten up the tilt mechanism I had put the upper bearing inner race back in the wrong side...
Replaced the ignition switch and took part of the top end of the column apart to see why the steering wheel was loose.... Looks like I need that bearing right under the turn signal switch..... Anyone know where I can find it by itself?
After you press it down with the tool there is a ring that's around the steering shaft that you have to remove.... Then it just slides off after you remove the tool...
Finished charging the battery up... Think I'm gonna replace the ignition switch before I hook it back up though as I think that's where my electrical problem is...
