thanks for the response..I mean that section of frame isnt really supporting anything either except the bumper. I'll put it up on a lift to check it out again. Maybe me and the guys at work can do this..

My 1979 GP SJ has the typical rear frame section rot, and I purchased 2 rust free sections off ebay. Does anyone live in the lower NY area that can do a job like this? I'm in westchester county. Thanks,

exhaust in 79 Gp I'm still trying to figure out the best way to install an exhaust system in my Pontiac powered Pontiac-I have a 1971 Pontiac 350 with factory exhaust manifolds, and I want to install the exhaust myself instead of getting ripped off by an exhaust shop. Like I've been reading...

I just swapped in a 1970 Pontiac 350 with factory manifolds, need to bolt up either a Y-pipe or 2 downpipes with mufflers so I can tune the motor, I tried Pypes exhaust, but they dont think their downpipes will fit the 1978+up G-body. any suggestions? :?:

I'm replacing my 301 with a 1970 Pontiac 350 in my 1979 GP and the exhaust manifolds on the 301 are in pretty bad shape. I've seen many manifolds on E-Bay, just not sure which ones to get. Any suggestions?

I just found a motor on ebay-a 1970 350 Pontiac-pretty clean, and its close by... no exhaust manifolds, what do you think? headers or manifolds? I'm not building a street/strip car, just a driver...

I'm looking for a new motor for my '79 GP. Had someone with a 350 pontiac, but still havent heard anything. Looking for a pontiac motor, 350, or 400.

well, tonight we found out the source of the knock in the motor. The crank broke right in front of the timing gear..motor is going to be replaced. Have a line on a 350 Pontiac motor that should bolt right up. Will keep posting updates.
