Way to much converter your motor you dont make any pwr to keep it locked up to pull it down the track.One thing is you may never see it stall to 3500 because of stock stuff.I would say like a 2500 would wake it up just fine.

If it was my car and the rest of the car is in good shape,I would put a Roof on it if your not putting a top back on.If you want to leave the top off the welding is going to warp it and you will have a lot of work on your hands.

Check the all the bores and all the pistons may have a hurt skirt and it will cause a rattel.

I would ditch the 396 and find a 454 you will make more pwr.

Whats going to happen is that pump cant supply the demand.I would put a holley black pump on it.The carb i would run would be a 750 vac second.

Carb is to small and put a set of 26" slicks or a DR.What type of fuel pump are you running?With your motor set up with some small changes you should go 12.50 with it.

Never move out it will just be harder to buy cars and parts if you do lol

Sounds like there is a vacumme leak someplace.
