Thanks for that, I will try to find that coupler tomorrow and check it out. I was suspecting clogged fuel injectors as well, I wonder if there is a place locally that professionally cleans fuel injectors. Have you ever used MotorVac? If so, where are they located and how much did they charge...
Hey..
I got a Taurus last week and two codes came up, P0401 & P0430.
P0401 was a bad DPFE Sensor which I replaced and the code is gone now.
P0430 - I am 90% sure it is the catalytic converter.
I am yet to get the new catalytic converter as I need a little more money but also I wanted to be...
Thanks for the bump. I just re read the thread and realized I overlooked all pontiacgp's posts where he points out that the XH, HX, Z boxes have the same ratio as a stock SS box, I apologize.. I was fixed that the Z box had 2.25 L2L as I had read it somewhere else.
my car has 3 1/8 turns L2L already and I figured that was the stock ratio, is that considered a fast ratio? I don't want to buy a new one if I might end up with one that only removes that 1/8 of a steering wheel turn. On a curving (a little wider) right turn I made, I payed attention to spin and...
I can understand that but there really isn't much proof to say who is right... I was just hoping to get a quick ratio steering box on there by the end of today but that didn't quite work out. Here's what happened...
I got up and did some more reading trying to see if I could try and get the 2...
Thanks for the article 82g... I'll have to read it later where I can study it to understand it all. Off the bat though, I do notice on the chart that the steering box with "XH" code has the shortest travel to maybe confirm what I was saying in my last post.
pontiacgp, here is the thread I was...
ok I thanks, I will shoot him a PM in a bit...
Checking out the F-Body forum, I learned that the Z stamped on there doesn't guarantee the 2.25 turns lock to lock. It turns out that the 2.25 turn L2L boxes have the code "XH" or "HX" depending on how your viewing it..
I am curious, what is it...
My car's steering wheel turns from lock to lock about 3 1/8 turns. I read about a Z steering box which locks at 2.25 turns, that would be great but not everyone in the thread came to an agreement about them working out and I didn't understand a lot of what everyone was saying. Here is the thread...
Update:
I believe the temperature sensor is a part of the thermostat housing and the thing in my picture is the PCV valve. I don't have any thing to hook to the temperature sensor though. The passenger side computer (ECM?) was took out when they converted from V6 to V8 I believe because all the...
Thanks for the advice! Sounds like you're on to something :-)
The EGR Valve has no vacuum line hooked up to it and I just read about how that would cause rough idling and hesitating, which is also a problem, although, I figured it was from a burned through and ticking spark plug which I was...
Thanks guys, I really appreciate it! I wasn't planning on cutting anything, just wondering if I can do without... The blower motor relay I asked about because the power wire running to it comes from the starter power and it looks like it needs to be redone in my opinion...
I was seeing if I...
Hey, I'm doing the first tune up for my car and figured I would try to clean up some of the crap going on underneath the hood. There are a bunch of wires being ran in crazy directions all over the place.
The car I have is an 84 Monte Carlo which was originally a V6 car but the guy I bought it...
