bill that one is great idea and i feel stupid :blam: turned the dist around and it fired up it was like you guys said basically 180* around cant thank you guys enough :mrgreen:
thanks allot you guys for the tips im going to go and try it all over again ill let you know how it gos. i swear i put the dist pointing at the number one cylinder at tdc i am just going to start all over again from the beginning seriously thanks allot you guys :D
ok so today i was trying to fire up the motor for the first time been stressing hard for a couple hours NOW :evil: ok so every time i crank it its back firing no matter how i turn the distributor retard or advance it back fires and carb goes in flames the motor is a sbc 350 turned 383 the thing...
thanks allot for the reply i was looking at the frame today and a couple pictures the holes for the chevy frame pads are placed a little bit more forward compared to the pontiac ones right
i have built a couple 400+hp 350 it ain't hard to get to thous numbers but i just wanted to see i could've gotten its a really good running low mileage 305 and because i got no motor in my car right now but i am just going to wait awhile longer and build that 350 and try to see if i can break...
i have a 350 block but i just want to build a 305 and see how much power i can get out of one building it my way but then agin im really tempted to just doing that 350 and making a stroker out of it
i cant seem to find a answer online im trying to get aluminum cylinder heads and i want to know what are the biggest intake and exhaust valves i can go with that would clear a stock bore 305 can any one help me out :?
and yes i know that i should just go with a 350
