calais 5.3 swap

so i just got a 5.3 block the other day
supposedly a 2004 truck block
i either plan on going with a carb or a tbi conversion (holly terminator or something along those lines)
can i use the stock alternator?
will i be able to use the ac compressor?
i am having a b*tch of a time trying to get it on my engine stand

To my knowledge from research, you can use the truck location ac mounting but have to notch your crossmember. Otherwise you have to aftermarket brackets I believe.

so this is what i am thinking
ditch the ac for the time being
need some motor mount adapters (ebay)
transmission adapter (th350)
intake manifold (edelbrock)
holley 650dp carb
ms ignition box
gen 3 valley pan to get rid of the ugly stock valley pan
pacesetter headers from a 98-02 fbody
anything else i am forgetting?

can i just throw a comp cams (54-416-11) and reuse all the stock springs, lifters, pushrods, rocker arms?
