Hello all o/

I just picked up this beaut. She is in great condition and a good runner. I don't know much about her yet but I'll be reading this forum top to bottom.

What engine is in her? I don't pickup till next week, previous owner thinks it is a 350?

Nice car. Gotta love those four doors!!!
Your car probably has the 307 Olds engine in it. Looks too original (except for the yellow piping) to have been swaped. But definately has an olds engine, not a chevy.
I'm driving the TAXI up to Collingwood this fall.

I was told it was a 350 and has had recent engine work, but really shows no evidence of it. I purchased the car based on how friggon clean it is and zero rust anywhere, even frame and undercarriage is clean and evidence of yearly oil sprays. Once I pickup the car next week I'll tear into it.

Maybe an Olds 350 then. Definately an Olds engine. The oil filler spout gives it away.

Definitely an Olds engine, but without some further research into the casting/stamping numbers on it, it could be anything from a 260 to a 403. Years ago, my father had an '80 Cutlass Brougham with the 260 Olds V8 in it. It was a bit of a dog. I notice from the photos, that the engine still appears to have all of the factory emission hardware, right down to the original style air cleaner assembly with the flexible intake hose to the air cleaner. and what appears to be the original style A.I.R. system on it. Most people who swap to a larger engine will remove or replace items like that, to try to promote higher airflow to the larger engine, or to try to remove any perceived parasitic losses to the engine output. Does the car still have the original style single exhaust, with the single muffler and large flat pellet style catalytic converter on it?

Is it a 2 or 4 barrel carb? There should be a number in front of #1 spark plug and numbers on the timing shelf by the oil fill tube behind the water pump. Some of the later blocks had the size in big numbers on the side of the block. It more than likely had the 260 factory, the 307 was not an option till the 81 model year in the new body style.
